Conservation.
As part of our charitable and community activities, we support environmentally focused charities. Our EMEA team has collaborated with Reforest’Action, a scheme that aims to combat the impacts of deforestation, preserving, restoring and planting forests around the world. So far, 4,000+ trees planted or preserved – estimated to produce 4,020 months of oxygen and store 151 tCO2 – equivalent to over 30 years.
Climate change disclosure.
The global landscape for sustainability legislation and reporting is evolving rapidly. Recognising the importance of sustainability in corporate governance, we continue to develop our approach to sustainability, reporting and goal setting for our Group environmental and decarbonisation ambitions. We’re engaging with internal and expert third-party resources to set clear roadmaps and pathways.
Carbon reduction.
We have developed a roadmap, to move away from oil and gas heating in our facilities by 2029. We also made good progress by reducing our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2024 by 20% (2023: 9%). For 2024, we have measured and reported on our wider Scope 3 emissions; a year ahead of our targeted date.
Within the Group we have established a virtual team to monitor the collection of global emissions and in February 2024 a new sub-committee was established to increase our focus on this area.
Our climate targets.
We will continue to prioritise our efforts on reducing our directly controllable emissions with a view to annual reductions in our intensity ratios going forwards and achieving net zero for these categories by 2035.
- To agree a timeline to move away from oil and gas heating in our facilities.
- To have a measure of wider Scope 3 emissions by 2026.
- To use, where possible, renewable energy across our office locations by 2028.
- To work with the AV channel to help it become net zero by 2050 or sooner.
- Engaging with third party climate ratings organisations (CDP and EcoVadis).

Kern & Stelly – Klimapatenschaft GmbH – we plant drinking water!
Our K&S team are committed sustainability campaigners and undertake lots of group events, such as planting trees to secure drinking water with Klimapatenschaft.
Active Week - Reforest Action
Our EMEA businesses have initiated "Active Week", where teams use their local environments to get fitter and pledge trees to the Belorado project.
